Terms and Conditions of Service provided by Kat Taylor Psychology (updated 07/03/2022)

1. Professional Standards of Practice

1.1 Your clinical psychologist is registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) and as such must comply with a range of standards of conduct, performance and ethics and engage in a range of continual professional development activities to maintain their practice. 2. Confidentiality

2.1. Your clinical psychologist understands and respects the importance of confidentiality of those that they work will not disclose information to a 3rd party without your consent unless legally bound to do so. For example, if your psychologist has reason to believe that either the client or somebody else is at risk of harm. In these circumstances, the psychologist will endeavour to speak to you prior to sharing your information and explain the reasons that this is necessary.

 In line with our standards of conduct, performance and ethics, we must take appropriate action if we have concerns about the safety or wellbeing of children or vulnerable adults. In this situation we will follow local policies and processes for raising a safeguarding concern. This may include information the local council or the police.

2.2. Your clinical psychologist will keep all personal information securely and is registered with the Information Commissioner’s office. Dr Katriona Taylor’s data protection registration number is: XXXXXXX https://ico.org.uk

 Your clinical psychologist is compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (also known as the GDPR) which aims to protect your fundamental right to privacy and protection of your personal data. Please see our privacy policy for more information about how we protect your data.

2.3. Where you have agreed for information to be shared with a 3rd party (for example, a report to your GP or other professional) you must make it clear prior to the communication of any information which you would like to omit. Reports will usually be written with your collaboration and you will be provided an opportunity to read and make comment prior to information being shared to promote transparency and honesty throughout the therapy process.

2.4. Where we have not received payment for any service which you have received or cancelled outside of the agreed cancellation window, your contact details may be passed on to a debt collection service in order to retrieve payment.
 

3. Finance

3.1. Self funding

3.1.1. If you are paying for your services yourself, payment for each session should be made in advance of the appointment. Please use your last name and invoice number or date of contact as the refence so that the payment can be easily identified.

3.1.2. Payments are to be made via bank transfer to Kat Taylor Psychology, Business account number: 08401771 Sort Code: 60-83-71.

3.2. Fees:

3.2.1. At Kat Taylor Psychology we hope to be as open and honest as possible regarding our fees. Fees vary according to the type of service required and whether this is a service for an individual or professionals. Please see pricing section on website or contact directly for the most up to date list of services and pricing or for a quote for a bespoke package.

Additional services may be available, for example, if you would like a report written following assessment or treatment. For letters and reports, these will be charges in accordance to an hourly rate.

3.2.2. Any liaison or additional input outside of agreed sessions will also be charged at your clinical psychologist’s hourly rate to account for additional time taken on your case.

 3.3. Cancellations

3.3.1. Cancellations made with more than 48 hours’ notice will not attract a cancellation fee.

3.3.2 Any cancellations made after 48 hours’ notice of the session will be charged at the full rate.

 

4. Email and telephone contact:

 4.1. If necessary, your clinical psychologist can receive email communication in the form of confidential reports and/or additional information. However, reviewing the content of such documents will be charged at their hourly rate and added to your next invoice. Telephone calls (other than relating to arranging sessions or payments) will also be charged at your agreed hourly rate and added to your next invoice.

4.2. Your clinical psychologist cannot guarantee rapid responses to e-mail and telephone communication which is received, however will endeavour to respond within 24 hours.

 

5. Prior to your initial appointment (for assessment and therapy clients)

5.1. Prior to your first appointment you will be offered a 15 minute telephone/video call appointment in order for you to meet your psychologist, share a brief overview of the problem. what your goals for assessment and/or therapy may be in order for your and your psychologist to get a sense of whether you are likely to be a good fit. If the psychologist does not feel that they can meet your needs from this initial appointment, they will explain this to you and endeavour (with your permission) to identify an appropriate clinician/service and signpost you to them.

5.2. Prior to your first assessment session you will be sent via e-mail a copy of the terms and conditions which must be returned prior to the start time of your first session.

5.3. Depending on your difficulties, prior to your first appointment your clinical psychologist may send you a questionnaire to complete to help us to understand more about your current concerns. This should then be completed and then returned via e-mail prior to the initial appointment.

 

6. Complaints

We hope that you will never have to complain about the service provided by Kat Taylor Psychology, however if you do have a concern please in the first instance put this in writing to your clinical psychologist at your own convenience and e-mail this to kattaylorpsychology@protonmail.com and we will endeavour to work with you to resolve the issue. Alternatively, or if you do not find the response sufficient then you can contact the Health and Care Professionals Council.
